US sandwich chain Which Wich signs UK franchise deal

The sandwich brand’s second London site will open in Fleet Street later this week

US grab-and-go sandwich chain Which Wich Superior Sandwiches has signed its first UK multi-unit franchise agreement with hospitality brand management firm Breaking Brands Management Ltd.

The partnership will see the launch of its first locations in Cardiff and marks a step in the Texan sandwich brand’s UK expansion.

Which Wich was founded in Dallas in 2003 and operates nearly 230 sites in the US.

It opened its first UK site in the capital’s West End in St Giles Place before the pandemic, offering a customisable menu of hot toasted sandwiches.

It is set to open its second London site on Fleet Street this Thursday.

The chain previously said its Fleet Street site would “serve as a prototype for future franchise locations nationwide”.

Rami Awada, UK master franchisee of Which Wich, said: “Cardiff ticks all the right boxes: diverse, energetic, and full of opportunity. Partnering with a trusted operator like Breaking Brands, we’re set to take Cardiff by storm as we bring our fresh, made-to-order Wiches to new communities across the country.”

Which Wich is one of a number of international restaurant brands planning UK openings this year, including Carl’s Jr and Chick-fil-A.
